Dynamic duo, tourism specialist twins – it doesn’t matter how you describe them, Lesley Immink and Lynda Keene are a force to be reckoned with over thirty five years’ experience in the industry. Their first exposure to tourism was at Milford Sound in 1981. Lynda was the hotel receptionist and Lesley the housemaid. They often joked that it was Lesley who did the grunt work ‘learning on the job’, while Lynda developed management skills, ultimately getting herself qualified with an MBA.
These early beginnings set the tone with a blend of practical and academic skills that produced highly successful results for both sisters. Lesley has the entrepreneurial courage to get new businesses up and running and Lynda has extensive experience and qualifications to action any size project.
TBA as a name came about because as children, they had their twin speak and as they grew older their twin code was often in acronyms with the main one being TBA – To be advised. When looking at names for their consultancy, TBA came up and fitted perfectly with Tourism Business Advice and/or Actions. Lesley wanted the A to be for actions because she believes too much time and reporting is spent on pretty paper-work, but Lynda won out with the rationale that advice is what we are sharing first and then the actions.
